RAW CACAO POWER

Cacao, the seed of the fruit of the Theobroma tree, is a potent energetic medicine. Raw ceremonial cacao comes from a cold-press of raw cacao beans from wild native strains … then fermented, sun-dried and ground into ceremonial paste.

Commercial chocolate is produced from vast commercial fumigated farms, roasted at high temperatures and irradiated.

This changes the molecular structure of the cacao, kills living enzymes and almost all nutritional value.

Antioxidants

Flavonoids are antioxidants that protect cells by removing free radicals and chelating metals.

The more that chocolate is processed, the fewer flavonoids it retains, the less its antioxidant content, and less the health benefit.

Raw, organic cacao has no added ingredients, and is not subjected to high temperatures.

The ORAC* value of raw cacao is 95,500, compared to broccoli at 890, strawberries 1,540, kale 1,770, blueberries 2,400, and goji-berry 25,300.  Raw cacao has high concentrations of calcium, sulfur, magnesium, phenylethylamine, monounsaturated fat, cholesterol-free saturated fat, plant-based iron, vitamins, minerals, fiber, natural carbohydrates and protein. It is awesome and complete food.

*The USDA dropped ORAC tables in 2012 because of disuse by the marketing industry and confusion around food sample sizes. However, the tests stand.

Raw cacao also contains the neurotransmitter anandamide and endocannabinoid which binds to THC receptors similar to CBD, and theobromine which has diuretic, stimulant and relaxing effects and can lower blood pressure because of blood vessel dilation.*

Theobromine is a stimulant kind of like caffeine but unlike caffeine, doesn’t affect the central nervous system. So no jitters, just alertness!

Ashwagandha (withania somnifera) is an ancient medicinal herb classified as an adaptogen.
